Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata). Blue Jays - bright, bold, blue "foodies"! Blue Jays symbolize loyalty, intelligence and are known for their strong family bonds. Fierce defenders of their young.  A great gift choice for Blue Jay supporters, birders or for anyone that simply loves the colour blue! Comes in two sizes - adult and chick.

The Blue Jay is crafted entirely from glass - no paints, glazes or molds are used in their production. The bird's shape is designed and hand-cut, then layers of coloured crushed glass built up on the clear shape before firing the bird is in a kiln over many hours.

Please expect minor variations in tone and shade due to the handcrafted, unique and whimsical nature of the work. The direction the bird is facing will vary randomly. Because the birds are created using successive layering of glass, their detail is best seen from the front.
