The Hadhad family have created and shipped their specialty treats all over the Middle East and Europe for almost 30 years. In late 2012, the family chocolate factory in Damascus, Syria was destroyed in a bombing that forced the family to leave everything behind and flee to Lebanon. After three years as refugees they were invited to settle in Canada. Settling in Antigonish, Nova Scotia they rebuilt their chocolate company in 2016 as Peace by Chocolate, and are once again working at what they love, passionately combining a blend of Syrian fillings and ingredients, including nuts, fruit, and spices, after all, "One Peace Won't Hurt".
